Short answer
Teamer closed on 5 October 2026 and has no export tool, so your events and member lists do not carry over. To keep a weekly football game going, recreate it in Playbox as a recurring game: set the pitch, day, time, format and price once, then share one link with your group. Playbox creates each week's game, keeps the list and the waitlist, takes payments online or tracks cash, and reminds players before kickoff.
What happened to Teamer?
Teamer closed on Monday 5 October 2026. Users were told by email on 5 August 2026, and the company said it was choosing to focus on Pitchero and PitcheroGPS, its sister platforms.
There are no export tools. Teamer says a team's events and member lists cannot be moved to a new system, and after the closure team and user data are no longer accessible. Teamer Premium subscriptions were cancelled during September 2026.
Teamer points its users to Pitchero, which makes sense if you run a club. If you run a weekly game or a five-a-side group, the rest of this page shows how to rebuild it in Playbox.
What you lose with Teamer gone
- Your member list and everyone's details inside Teamer.
- Your events, their history and who said they were available.
- Team messages and any payment setup you had linked.
Nothing can be imported, so start from what you still have: your group chat and old Teamer emails are the best record of who played.
How do you set up the same weekly game in Playbox?
Create the game once
How pricing works in the game formSign up at app.play-box.xyz with Google, Apple or Telegram and create a game. Pick your pitch on the map, or add it yourself if it is not listed yet.
Set the kickoff time, format (5v5, 7v7 and so on), number of players, duration and price. Before you publish, the Checkout step shows exactly what Playbox will charge you.
Turn it into a recurring game
How recurring games workTurn on Repeat on the Checkout step, or go to Settings, Organizer tools, Recurring events. Pick the weekdays and the kickoff time once.
Playbox then creates every game for you: 2 days ahead and published at 12:00 by default, and you can change both. Each game is announced in the chats you chose.
Already ran the same game twice in the same weekly slot? Playbox offers autopilot in the lobby of the third one, with every setting carried over.
Bring your players over
Using Playbox with your Telegram chatThere is no import, so the game link is your roster. Post it in your group chat. Players do not need to install anything: the link opens in the browser or in Telegram and they sign up in one tap.
Add the Playbox bot to your Telegram group once, and every game and every sign-up change is posted there automatically. You can also invite people you have played with by name from the game screen.
When the game is full, new sign-ups go to the waitlist. With Notify to Join, the waitlist hears about a free spot and the first to tap takes it. With Auto Join (if you accept cash), the next player in the queue gets the spot.
Choose how players pay
When players pay and when you get the moneyAccept cash, online or both. Online means card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or the Playbox wallet, paid when the player signs up. Cash players pay you at the pitch, and you mark them in the game under Manage, Payments.
Want everyone to pay upfront? Settings, Finance settings, Accepted Payment Methods, Only Online.
Online payments reach your Playbox wallet the morning after the game, minus the Playbox fee. You withdraw them to a bank account or to Stripe, from $5 to $1000 per payout.
Let reminders do the chasing
Announcements and remindersAbout 2 hours before kickoff Playbox reminds every signed-up player, you, and the Telegram group where the game was announced.
There is no manual reminder button, so publish the game two or three days ahead to give people time to sign up.
Run match day
How balanced teams workSplit the players into balanced teams by rating and move anyone between teams before kickoff if you need to. After the game, record and confirm the score: each player's rating and stats update from it.

What Playbox adds to a weekly game
- Balanced teams by player rating, split in one tap.
- Confirmed results that build each player's PBX Rank and personal stats.
- A late cancellation policy: a player who drops out close to kickoff owes you a fine.
- Live streams with your own score graphics, and goal clips after the game.
- Leagues with fixtures and standings when your group outgrows a single game.
What does it cost?
Creating an account and games costs nothing. Playbox charges the organizer 7% of the price per player, at least $0.30 per player, and only for games that actually took place. Cancelled games and empty slots cost nothing.
Free games are charged $0.30 per player who played (games from 7 October 2026). League matches are $2 per match played.
Questions from Teamer users
Can I import my Teamer team into Playbox?+
No. Teamer has no export tools, so there is nothing to import. Share your Playbox game link in your group chat and players sign up themselves.
Do my players need to download an app?+
No. They join from the link in the browser, in the iOS or Android app, or in the Telegram Mini App, and create an account in one tap with Google, Apple or Telegram.
Can Playbox run my game every week automatically?+
Yes. Set it up once in Recurring events and Playbox creates each game ahead of time and announces it in your chats. Keep your wallet balance at zero or above: with a negative balance the next game is not created until you top up.
Can players still pay in cash?+
Yes. You choose cash, online or both. Cash players pay you at the pitch and you mark them as paid in the game.
What if not enough players sign up?+
If nobody comes and the scheduled time runs out, Playbox cancels the game with the reason "Not enough players", refunds online payments to the players' Playbox wallets and charges you nothing.
Is Playbox only for five-a-side?+
No. Any format from 5v5 to 11v11, friendly or ranked, solo sign-ups or full teams, and multi-week leagues.
