How do I invite players to my team in a game?

Open your team page in the game and tap Add players. The sheet has two tabs: Friends, which lists the people you already play with, and Draft, which lists players who signed up for this game but are not in a squad yet. Both tabs are always there, and each explains itself when it is empty. Under them there is Invite by link, which works on both tabs and is the way to reach people who are neither your friends nor in the draft. Invited players are counted on the team page as invitations on the way, so you can see who is still deciding and do not invite the same person twice. The whole squad sees those pending invitations, not only the person who sent them, and they survive a change of captain. The team’s application goes to the organizer once the required number of players is gathered.
