Who pays for a promo code discount, and what happens to the Playbox fee and fines?
It depends on who issued the code: an organizer’s own code is paid by the organizer, a Playbox or partner code is paid by Playbox. With an organizer code the player pays less and the organizer receives less (“You fund the discount”). With a Playbox code the organizer still receives the full spot price, and Playbox adds the difference to the organizer’s payout.
The Playbox fee is taken from the price after the promo code, so a code lowers the fee too. Late-cancellation and no-show fines are also a percentage of the price after the promo, not of the list price. A fine for a teammate or friend someone else paid for goes to whoever paid.
The post-game payments report has a separate promo discount column, so the organizer sees the code, the discount and who funded it next to the Early Bird and partner discounts.
A code that does not stack with Early Bird or a partner bonus competes with it: the bigger discount wins, a tie goes to the code, and when the code wins the Early Bird spot goes to the next player.
