What does a Playbox game announcement in Telegram show, and why are there no player photos?

A Playbox game post in your Telegram chat shows a status line, the game details and the players by nickname. It does not show player photos: there is no face next to a name and no “Photos in announces” switch in the chat settings, for anyone.

• Status line on top: “New game” while people sign up, “Game is on” once it has kicked off, then “Game played” or “Game cancelled”. A finished or cancelled post drops the app links at the bottom.

• Players line (pickup games): players signed up out of the spots, and, if the game has a level, a level icon. Next to the icon you see the players’ average PBX once at least 30% of the spots are taken by players with a calibrated rating; until then it shows the level word (“Amateur”, “Mastery” or “Legendary”). Team games list the teams instead.

• Roster and waitlist: every nickname opens that player’s Playbox profile. In a very long roster only the first players get a link, so the post fits Telegram’s limits.

Photos next to names were tried for one day in October 2026 and removed because of Telegram limits. So a missing face is not about your photo being unconfirmed: nobody’s photo appears.
