How does a penalty shootout work?
A penalty shootout settles a knockout game that is still tied after regular (and, if used, extra) time. Each team takes the configured number of kicks (5 by default, adjustable from 3 to 10), and the organizer records each kick as scored or missed in the management panel. Kicks can be recorded only after the shootout has started, and only by players who were on the pitch for their team at the final whistle. Other kicks are rejected. The running shootout score is shown on the scoreboard and stream overlay, and the team with more successful kicks is recorded as the winner.
