Can I see the match score on my phone's lock screen?
Yes. On iPhone, the score of a match you take part in appears on the lock screen while the game is being played, so you do not need to open the app to see where it stands. The clock keeps running on its own and the score updates as goals are recorded. The card also shows the current half, and it goes away once the match is over.
What the card shows
-
The running match clock and a progress bar for the match.
-
The score, with each team marked in its own colours so you can tell the sides apart at a glance.
-
A penalty shootout on its own separate line, because football counts a shootout separately from the match score.
-
On iPhone models with Dynamic Island, the same score also appears around the camera cutout.
Who sees it
Only people taking part in the event: the players in the squads of that match and the person running it. Someone who is not in the event never gets the card.
Requirements
The Playbox app from the App Store on iOS 16.2 or later. On iOS 17.2 and later the card can also appear by itself when the match kicks off, without you opening the app first. If you do not see it, open iOS Settings, find Playbox and check that Live Activities are allowed. This feature is iPhone only; it is not available on Android or in the web version.
