What event types are available in Playbox?
Playbox games are set up in the “Join Type” row when you create a game, with two switches, “Solo” and “Team” (at least one stays on). A new game starts with both switches on:
-
“Solo” only: a pickup, players join one by one and the organizer splits them into teams.
-
“Solo” and “Team” (“Solo and team”): still a pickup, and a captain may also bring a permanent team through checkout (see “Can captains bring their permanent team to my pickup game?”).
-
“Team” only (Team Clash): captains invite their squad and register it as a team; the “Draft” switch lets players without a team offer themselves to captains.
Neither join type makes a game competitive. To have results count for ratings, simply turn on the “Competitive game” switch on the Gameplay step; it works with both (see “How do I make my games competitive (ranked) so results affect player ratings?”). After the game is created a pickup keeps “Solo” and you can still switch “Team” on or off, a Team game stays a Team game. The Competitive switch can be turned on later when you edit the game.
