How do I set up extra time and penalty shootouts?

Extra time and penalties are configured in the tiebreak settings of a knockout stage (a double-stage tournament or a league playoff). Open the stage’s tiebreak settings, choose the rule, then adjust the sub-options:

• Tiebreak rule, Extra Time, Penalty Shootout, Golden Goal, or Choose Manually.

• Extra time halves, 1 or 2 halves (default 2).

• Extra time duration, minutes per half (default 5).

• If still a draw after extra time, the fallback rule, usually Penalty Shootout (the default).

• Penalty kicks, kicks per team, from 3 to 10 (default 5).

For two-leg (home & away) ties, a separate qualification tiebreak rule decides the winner when the aggregate score is level.
