Why do I see games from other cities or "worldwide"?

When there are no games inside your search area, Playbox shows a “Games Worldwide” and “Past Games Worldwide” fallback so the Explore feed is never empty. This happens both for guests who are not signed in and for signed-in players who have no upcoming games or recent results within their search radius. The worldwide list is only a fallback: as soon as games exist near you, your local feed takes priority and the worldwide section drops off automatically. It exists so new players in areas without local activity can still see live games and understand how Playbox works. To get a local feed instead, set or widen your search area so nearby games can appear.
