What does an unpaid late-cancellation fee block, and does it expire?

It blocks every way of joining that organizer’s games until you settle it, and it expires by itself 60 days after the cancellation.

The order is always the same: pay the fee first, then join. It does not matter how you were going to pay for the game itself, cash, card, wallet or a waitlist place are all closed until the fee is cleared. The game screen names the amount and offers to pay it instead of silently refusing you.

Earlier the fee could ride along inside the payment for your next game. That is gone: paying for a game and paying a fee are now two separate steps. Games run by every other organizer are unaffected, and nothing is ever deducted from your wallet on its own.

Three things end a fee:

• you pay it, either on its own or together with your next game

• the organizer cancels it, and you are notified when they do

• it expires on its own after 60 days
