How do I approve who joins my community, and where are pending join requests?

Only private communities have join requests; a public community is open to everyone and nobody joins it. There is no “Approve new members” switch any more: every request to a private community waits for approval.

When someone taps “Request to join”, the owner and admins get a “Join request” notification and a dot appears on the “Participants” tab. Open “Participants”, then “Join requests”, and tap “Approve” or “Decline” for each person.

• Approved: the person becomes a participant, sees everything and gets “Your request to join was approved.”

• Declined: the person is not notified, simply sees “Request to join” again and can apply again.

Requests are never approved automatically. A person can cancel a request with “Cancel request”.

To remove someone later: “Participants”, the ”⋯” next to the person, “Remove from community”. Admins can remove participants; only the owner can remove an admin. A removed person is not notified and can request again.
